Back to School!

I know it's strange, but I'm loving being back!

First of all, the schedule is very different. And, for the first time in almost 30 years, we have bells. Things are still a little rocky, but Mr. Gaetano says that it will work out! Lunch is a little later - which is nice. Last year we ate at 10:55 - too early for me.

The students have been great so far! I think that they have started to realize that the bar is high, and they need to reach it. I am very pleased with the overall effort that I have seen so far. And, they have a great sense of humor (very necessary in my room).

Meet the Teacher Night was nice - had a chance to meet a few parents.

Our new superintendent, Mr. Grantier, has a nice style. He seems to be very down-to-earth and approachable. So far, so good!

And have I mentioned that the kids are great? 8th grade rocks!

Have a great day!

What kind of bells are there now? When I was in middle school and high school, there were always bells....as in the BEEEP sound the PA speakers would play at the end of classes. Is that different now?

The middle school did not have bells at the end of classes and at the beginning. Now we do. Two tones (think doorbell) to begin the period, one to end and 2 minutes between to get to your next class.
