C.O.O.L. Day!

I had a fantastic time yesterday when I was given the opportunity to travel about the community and see all my students at various job sites! All told, I saw 33 of you and put 50 miles on my car! You all looked very professional when I arrived and seemed to really be enjoying the experience. The mentors who worked with you often remarked how intelligent, polite, professional, and enjoyable you were! Many, if not all, wanted us to remember to send 8th graders next year! That really speaks to your being very mature in your demeanor (vocab. word!), and to Mrs. Herman and Mrs. Casale preparing you. Thank you for taking this day seriously! Thanks to Mrs. Herman for allowing me to tag along!

We haven't yet had "demeanor" as a vocab word.

My Cool day was fun. I went to the forestry college over in allenwood. I spent the day with a professer that teaches forestry. i ask him my questions then he took me on a tour around the buliding and i just saw a room where the kids who want to be a heavy equiment opeartor and they had to get these big eninges to start for there test. then i went to the professer room and he had a freshman class but only 3 of 12 kids showed up.
They had to pick a word off of the board and it explain it to me. It was really fun and intersting. Then i went to the senior class and they had a DCNR come and talk to them about what trees to cut down and tag. I learn about a bug that as been killing our hemlock trees all up through pine creek. I learn how they tell the age of the tree without cutting it down and it doesn't hurt it. The tool looks like a big srewdriver. They looked at the crown of the tree to see if it was good or not. WEll that was my day of cool day at the science department center.

cool day was exciting but i enjoy the presentations more because we learn about other careers and we get to do fun activities, and all the presentations are brief so if we dont like one it wont last that long
