Reflections on the week

This has been one hectic week!

Posting Grades!

This is a new step for me technology wise. Parents are now able to view the progress reports online. I already have a email from a parent to answer on Monday - I don't have my gradebook with me at home. Now the question occurs; do I answer these questions on the weekend or wait until a work day? Dealing with 24/7 access is the issue.

Resume Writing!
This is another first. Mrs. Herman and I decided to try and introduce the concept of writing a resume to our 8th graders, rather than wait until 12th grade. I think that the first session went well; Mrs.Herman does a fantastic job in her delivery and explanation. I have designed a web page so that students can look at example and play around with a format. Who knows, may be they can help their parents with their resumes after we are done. The next session will be on Wed., Feb. 4th. One of the uses for the resume will be to take it with them for C.O.O.L. Day.

Another Snow Day!
We lost another day of our Spring vacation to snow. On the other hand, I was able to work on my course activities. Mr. Ellis, Mr. Peterson, and Mr. Johnson (and others) have designed an online course to teach Web 2.0. I've just done the first activities and have enjoyed them. Again, another first for me in that I've never done an online course.

Keep Walking!
In the health trek to walk to Key West, our team came in first last week - overall second - and are nearing Danville, VA. I think that Mrs. Walls has really picked up her overall total of steps!

Make it a great day!
