OK 8th graders (plus any other Loyalsock Township Middle School student who reads this post), here are the rules for the contest.
You must HAND WRITE an essay to be no longer than 3 (front side only) notebook pages long - single spaced.
The essay could be either informational or persuasive. The topic is your choice.
I will need your essay by the second week of September.
Remember - this must be your work! Do not plagiarize or use someone else's essay!
We must have 25 essays to qualify - in other words, 25 of you must submit an essay for the contest.
Trust me, the prizes are worth the effort!
My advice is that you write a rough or first draft either by pencil or on the computer. The problem with the computer is that you will not know how long it will be handwritten. Make your corrections and then CAREFULLY recopy it with a pen on separate sheets of paper. You really should then have another person proof and correct your final draft so that you don't have any silly mistakes!
