It's always interesting when a Science Lab is due. The typical 8th grader, being typical, tends to wait until the last moment (and who among us is not a procrastinator and can throw stones?) and then scurries to finish. I do find it fascinating that they actually believe that they can type a 9 paragraph essay with few notes in 20 minutes. Wow, much more intelligent than I. Not to mention recreating the figures that are necessary. And I feel for the parents who are going to try to pick up the pieces and help.
That being said, I also can bear witness to the elation that some of them felt when Mr. C declared some of their items good. One young man was finished and couldn't figure out why he was hanging about.
