A Good Dog Person Must Be...

a confident pack leader.

Yesterday at Doggie Boot Camp, I worked with Missy and her owner. Missy is a Dachshund with quite an attitude. She apparently has not been given many rules or direction. Her owner was scared that she was going to bite someone and that fear was being communicated right down the leash to Missy. So, I not only needed to work with Missy - learning the new concept to her known as heel - but also her owner. I think that Missy will be joining our training dog roster for a few weeks. Unfortunately, her owner lives in Philadelphia and can't go to classes here. She had not been successful in finding a trainer in her area. This is going to be a good little dog with the proper training!
