So I am working on my Web 2.0 course work today. Yesterday, I came upon a hit on my Google Reader that was of interest; the arrest of a 14 year old for texting in school. During team meeting time today, we started by discussing that the recent incident at WASD was blown out of proportion due to the texting and cell phones used. This led to a good discussion as to how we are dealing with the cell phone in our classes, if in the future we see a legitimate use, how could we deal differently, etc. One thing that did surface was the realization that we have always had a cohort of individuals who use some item in a manner that bent the rules.
Things are apparently always going to be in a state of flux.
