Reflections on the week...

This is one for the books!

PSSA Writing

Well, we seemed to have made it through the first round of PSSA tests in 8th grade. I must say that the students worked extremely hard on their tests, and I thank them for that. The first day was the editing skills, and most were done very quickly. The second day's prompt was one that they were interested in and could address. Things were a little more difficult for Wednesday and Thursday. I was very pleased that all but one of my students used graphic organizers before they wrote. Also, we did a little reward of a cookie and movie and computer time during Mrs. Casale's class on Friday. Thanks for all of your hard work.

Children's books

We started the Children's book unit that I do in order to prepare for Dr. Seuss' night in March. The eighth graders have the option of either working alone or with a partner. So far, they are really working their hearts out.

Mrs. Herman

Again, one of the hardest working people that I know. She worked with the 8th graders on their resumes again on Friday. The students are really taking this project seriously. One young lady said that her brother called from college for help on his resume, and that she was able to answer some questions. Doesn't get much better than that!

Logan and Amber

We will go for weeks with nothing and then...
Monday night was at the James V. Brown library (you have to go see the new wing); Thursday night was Puppy Pals at Cochran (huge turn out of dogs and kids), and Saturday was Sycamore. Whew!

Tomorrow is a day off - hope that you reflect about the founding fathers and what they did.

Make it a great day!
