Welcome Mr. Weaver!
Mrs. Bomboy has a new student teacher who hails from Lock Haven. He was in today to get the lay of the land so to speak. He has already done a stint in another district so sees ready for action. He is also one of the members of CAPPA.
Children's Books
We completed the Children's Books Project this week. It culminated with about 37 8th graders reading to the students from Shick Elementary. This was a very successful project, and I am very pleased with the product!
Logan and Amber Sighting
Yep, I had them at Read Across America. Their next "gig" is on this coming Monday for Puppy Love, sponsored by the James V. Brown Library. This time we will be at the Michael Ross Estates. Then Logan and I will be going to the Williamsport Home on Thursday evening. Amber needs to sit this one out (might be too many dog commands there) because her handler will not be able to meet us there.
4 Sight
Mrs. Casale gave the 4 Sight today. It's one last chance to see what we need to touch on before the PSSA's! Wow, those dates are coming up quickly.
All Charged Up!
Mr. Conoway is charging up our students with the static lab! Next he moves on to the Periodic Table. I think that some of our 8th grade guys think this has to do with eating! But hey, it's Conoway's room!
What's with Language Arts?
We are starting a month long project that has my students in the role of career counselors. They are to select 3 careers to investigate and report via PowerPoint and then choose the one that is best suited for their client (their own interests & skills). This will be presented to their class at the end of the project. I also hope to add some resume and interviewing skills to simulate the real world.
Make it a great weekend (and stay dry)!
