Back to work and e-portfolios

Actually, I think that I want to "brag" about the portfolios first. The students took time during class to do peer evaluations using the rubric that they created (see the web page - Student Led Conferences). I peeped over shoulders as they looked over each other's. Highly Cool. While they were assessing, they were asking each other how this was done, could they do it, etc. It was way cool to hear Emily -after an intense session with the formatting palette - say "That works."

While I was looking over Karissa's, Mr. F came in; and I showed it to him. He was so impressed that he made it part of the learning meeting after school today. I emailed Karissa to let her know - I also asked if I could post it as an example.

Back to work

Yep, I was gone Thursday afternoon and all day Friday. My husband and I traveled to Columbus, Ohio (no, not for the football game) but for a pen show. I know, sounds really geeky, right? One of the things that the Pen Collectors of America promotes is Pens for Kids. They just created a PowerPoint that I want to get my hands on. I think at least one student (Brandon are you out there?) would be interested.

Somebody ought to ask to see my collection of Pelikans!

Have a great evening!
